As we spend more time on Facebook, connecting with friends and liking lots of Facebook Pages, it becomes a little cumbersome to manage all of the updates that come through our Facebook Newsfeed like photos, videos, status updates, deals and links on a daily basis.
When you add in going mobile and trying to check your Facebook Pages when you’re on the go, you’ll quickly notice that unless you’ve spent a lot of time organizing your friends and pages into interest lists, you’ll spend more time scrolling and less time actually consuming updates from your friends and the pages that you have liked.
Fortunately, there’s an app for Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad users that makes it very easy to separate out your Facebook Pages called alerts for Facebook.
What I like about this app:
When you launch the app on your Apple iPad, you’ll notice two separate windows – one for managing updates from all of your pages, the other which covers what is currently trending. On the iPhone, you get a more compact design of the latest updates from the Facebook Pages that you’ve liked.
What’s great about alerts for Facebook is that it gives you the ability to separate your Facebook Page updates from your Facebook profile updates. This way it is easier to see updates from Facebook Pages and then email, like, comment and share any of the updates on your Facebook profile. Another thing I really like about this app is that it not only let’s you see see updates from all of your Facebook Pages, but also what is currently trending on all of your pages or even within a specific page category, such as business pages.
How it works
To use alerts for Facebook, all you need to do is the following:
- Launch alerts for Facebook
- Login to your Facebook profile
- View all of your Facebook Pages that you have liked with with your Facebook profile or sort page you have liked by category
